NEWARK, Del. -- University of Delaware junior Claire Brown was named to the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Division I All-Region 2 second team, the organization announced this week.
Brown (Selbyville, Del./Worcester Prep) competed with the Blue Hen Varsity Eights boat during all eight regattas during the season, helping lead the crew to a third place finish at the Dad Vail Regatta and a fifth place result at the CAA Championships.
Brown, an All-CAA Rowing Team selection, helped the Varsity Eights defeat George Mason and Duquesne at the GMU Invitational, and also post a victory over Lehigh. She is the fifth Blue Hen rower in school history to earn CRCA All-Region honors.
Nominated student-athletes were evaluated on the strength of their teams' regional finish, coaches recommendations and 2,000-meter erg score, and must have competed in their teams' varsity boat in 75 percent of races this season. The award winners are now eligible for All-America award selection following the NCAA Rowing Championships.
