Blue Hen Men's Golfers Open Fall Season at Colgate?s Alex Lagowitz Memorial Invitational

Mike Keogh, is looking to improve upon its seventh place finish at the 2016 CAA Championship as the Blue Hens return all but one player from last year's squad.
Junior Kieran Purcell was the only Blue Hen to appear in all 12 tournaments last year, ranking second on the team with a 75.45 stroke average and finishing a team-best 14th at the CAA meet. Classmates Blaine Lafferty, who was third on the squad with a 75.68 average round, and Jack Gianniny, who posted a team-best three top 10 finishes and won the Binghamton Fall Invitational individual crown, will also be key players for Blue Hens.
Senior co-captain Marc Oliveri, who averaged 76.45 shots per round while competing in eight tournaments, and sophomore Mark Benevento, who appeared in nine invitationals with a 76.92 stroke average, also return for Delaware.
The Alex Lagowitz Memorial Invitational is the first of five fall events for the Blue Hens, who return to action on Sept. 18-19 at the Navy Fall Classic. UD will also compete in the Binghamton/Matthews Auto Collegiate Golf Invitational on Oct. 2-3, the Elon Phoenix Invitational on Oct. 17-18, and the ODU/Outer Banks Invitational on Oct. 23-25.
