SENIOR DAY
The Blue Hens will honor and recognize the following six seniors on their squad during pre-game and halftime ceremonies: Mary Abram, Kirsten Hale, Coley Ricci and Jamie Schwartz and senior student athletic trainers Jessica Boyle and Morgan Taylor.
HOW WE HATCHED 🐣
The Blue Hens dedicate their season to those who have inspired them to play and grow the game of lacrosse. Saturday we will honor Josie Farri, former coach of freshman Julia Dambly. Coach Farri inspired Julia to become the best player and person she could be. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to compete today and, with the support of our alumnae, families, and friends, the opportunity to travel abroad this summer to grow the game in Switzerland! Help support a learning experience of a lifetime here.
LAST TIME OUT
The Blue Hens set a new school record for draw controls in a game while Coley Ricci broke the school record in the same category as Delaware cruised to the 19-9 women's lacrosse victory at Monmouth Wednesday evening. UD (3-2) finished the game with 23 draw controls to best the school mark of 21 set on February 25, 2015 at La Salle. Ricci collected 10 draw controls to break the school record of nine set by Shannon Burns against Drexel on April 15, 2012. Ricci, a team co-captain, added four goals to tie her career-high from a year ago. Jamie Schwartz contributed four points of her own with two goals and two assists and in the process became the 32nd player in program history to reach 100 career points. The attacker now has 101 on 56 goals and 45 assists for her four-year career. In total, 10 Delaware players tallied goals on the evening, including Julia Dambly, who registered her first career goal and finished the game with three scores to go along with three draw controls and two ground balls. Sara Laudermilch also posted her first career goal for the Hens. Taylor Carpentier picked up seven saves for the win.
· Delaware will be featured on April 14 as the CAA Game of the Week on Lax sports Network as the Blue Hens play at William & Mary.
Kateri Linville (Delaware '03) has led the Blue Hens to four consecutive winning seasons and an overall record of 58-49 (.542).
· John Sung (Oakland '07) is in his first season at the helm of the Hokies. He previously served as the head coach at Winthrop and Adrian College and is 109-47 all-time..
