HOW WE HATCHED 🐣
The Blue Hens dedicate their season to those who have inspired them to play and grow the game of lacrosse. This week we will honor Tracey Sullivan and Holly Drown, former coaches of sophomore Maggie McCarthy, and David Ashwood, dad of junior Sarah Ashwood. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to compete today and, with the support of our alumnae, families, and friends, the opportunity to travel abroad this summer to grow the game in Switzerland! Help support a learning experience of a lifetime here.
LAST TIME OUT
No. 14/20 Virginia Tech jumped out to an early lead and never looked back as the Blue Hens fell, 15-7, to the Hokies at a chilly Delaware Stadium Saturday afternoon. Mia DeRuggiero and Sydney Rausa led Delaware with three points (2g, 1a) apiece. Megan Santoleri added two goals of her own in the loss. Coming off of a record-breaking draw controls performance last Wednesday, Coley Ricci grabbed five more against Virginia Tech to go along with team-highs of four caused turnovers and three ground balls. Turnovers and fouls plagued the Blue Hens (3-3) all afternoon as Delaware finished the day with 24 total turnovers and 36 fouls. Taylor Carpentier allowed 10 goals with two saves in 34 minutes of play before Laney Stenson came in in relief and registered five saves with five goals allowed in 26 minutes.
