Delaware Moves Up Into Tie For 14th Place After Second Day of Kingsmill Intercollegiate

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- The University of Delaware men's golf team fired a 298 score on Monday at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate to move into a tie for 14th place following the second day of the tournament.
The Blue Hens, who carded a 314 during Sunday's opening round, moved up five spots with a two-round total of 612. Penn State leads the 22-team field with a 567 score, while Tennessee is three shots back.
UD sophomore Mark Benevento recorded a three over par 73 during his second round on the par 70, 6,778-yard River Course at Kingsmill Resort, ending the day tied for 65th place in the standings with an 11 over par 78-73-151. Junior Blaine Lafferty also fired a 73 on Monday, as he finished the round in a tie for 68th place at 79-73-152, 12 over par.
Blue Hen junior Jack Gianniny is tied for 84th place at the tournament with a 15 over par score of 77-78-155, while senior Marc Oliveri has carded a 16 over par 81-75-156 to finish the day tied for 89th place. Junior Kieran Purcell is tied for 95th place with a 17 over par score of 80-77-157.
Clark Robinson of Marshall leads the field with a three under par 71-66-137, while Penn State teammates Cole Miller and Ryan Dornes are two shots behind.
The final round of the 54-hole tournament will begin with an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start on Tuesday.
