Blue Hens Women’s Golfers Fifth, Mueller Eighth After First Day of Kingsmill Intercollegiate

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- The University of Delaware women's golf team sits in fifth place while Valentina Mueller is tied for eighth following Monday's opening two rounds of the Kingsmill Intercollegiate hosted by William & Mary.
The Blue Hens posted team scores of 299 and 308 on Monday, ending the day in fifth place out of 22 squads with a two-round total of 607. Ball State leads the field with a 593 score, followed by Richmond (599), Marshall (601), William & Mary (602) and Delaware.
Mueller is tied for eighth place in the individual standings with a five over par 73-76-149 on the par 72, 6,025-yard River Course at Kingsmill Resort. Ashley Dingman carded a seven over par 75-76-151 to finish the day tied for 19th place while Grace Chua, playing as an individual, is also tied for 19th place with a seven over par 76-75-151.
Josefina Fernandez-Davila is tied for 27th place with an eight over par score of 74-78-152, while Ariane Klotz fired an 11 over par 77-78-155 to end the day tied for 40th place. Vitoria Teixeira, who shot a 13 over par 78-79-157, is tied for 53rd place at the tournament.
Liz Choi of William & Mary leads the invitational with a one under par 71-72-143, while Maddisen Cox of James Madison is one shot behind.
The tournament will conclude on Tuesday with an 8:15 a.m. shotgun start.
