Blue Hens, Gianniny Tied For Third Place Following First Day of Manor Intercollegiate

FARMVILLE, Va. -- The University of Delaware men's golf team fired rounds of 292 and 293 on Saturday to end the first day of the Manor Intercollegiate tied for third place out of 16 squads.
Tournament host Longwood leads the field with a two-round score of 576, Dartmouth sits in second place at 283, and the Blue Hens and Rhode Island are tied for third with 585 scores.
Delaware junior Jack Gianniny carded a two under par 69-73-142 on the par 72, 7,246-yard course at The Manor Golf Club, ending the day tied for third place in the individual standings just one shot off the lead. Jordan Boulton of Longwood and Poom Pattaropong of James Madison are tied for the lead at three under par, while Gianniny is one of three players sitting at two under.
Kieran Purcell is tied for 17th place with a three over par score of 70-77-147, while Marc Oliveri shot a five over par 76-73-149 on Saturday to end the day tied for 31st place. Bobby Diforio is tied for 34th place after firing a six over par 78-72-150, while Blaine Lafferty recorded an eight over par 77-75-152 to finish the day in a tie for 42nd place.
The final round of the tournament will begin with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Sunday.
