Blue Hen Women's Golfers in 13th Place Following First Day at NCAA Columbus Regional

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The University of Delaware women's golf team fired a 320 score as the Blue Hens finished the first day of the NCAA Columbus Regional in 13th place out of 18 squads.
Fourth-ranked Florida leads the field with a 297 total, with No. 5 Florida State sits in second place with a 299 score. No. 27 Purdue and No. 29 Ohio State are tied for third at 302, while 21st-ranked Texas A&M is fifth with a 308 total.
Blue Hen freshman Ariane Klotz is tied for 22nd place in the individual standings as she fired a five over par 38-39-77 during her opening round on the par 72, 6,416-yard Scarlet Course at the OSU Golf Club. Klotz bogeyed three of her first five holes, but responded with eight consecutive pars and posted her lone birdie of the day on the sixth hole.
Grace Chua carded a seven over par 42-37-79 to end the day in a tie for 43rd place, while Ashley Dingman is tied for 52nd place after she shot an eight over par 39-41-80 during Monday's round. Valentina Mueller is tied for 81st place with a 12 over par score of 41-43-84, while Vitoria Teixeira recorded a 13 over par 41-44-85 to finish the day in a tie for 84th place.
Marta Martin Garcia of Purdue leads the individual standings with a two under par 34-36-70, while Gabby Curtis of Wisconsin and Morgane Metraux of Florida State are two shots back at even par.
The second round of the three-day tournament will begin from the first and 10th tees at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
