Blue Hen Rising Senior Blaine Lafferty Named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-American Scholar

NORMAN, Okla. -- University of Delaware men's golfer Blaine Lafferty was named a Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-American Scholar, the organization announced on Wednesday.
Lafferty (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee), who will be a senior with the Blue Hens this coming year, was one of 260 Division I men's golfers to earn the prestigious honor.
Lafferty, a finance major, appeared in all but one tournament for Delaware in 2016-17, ranking fourth on the team with a 74.68 average round. He was the Blue Hens' top finisher at the Navy Fall Classic by tying for third place with a two under par 72-70-142, and tied for 15th place while helping UD win the team title at the Alex Lagowitz Memorial Invitational.
Lafferty has competed in all but three tournaments during his first three years in Newark, as his 75.67 career average round is currently the eighth lowest in school history.
To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50 percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0, and maintain a cumulative career grade point average of 3.2.
