University of Delaware Men's Golf Announces 2017 Fall Schedule

NEWARK, Del. -- The University of Delaware men's golf team will compete in five tournaments as the Blue Hens announced their 2017 fall schedule on Tuesday.
Delaware, under the direction of Director of Golf Programs Patty Post, kicks off the campaign on Sept. 9-10 at the Colgate/Alex Lagowitz Memorial Invitational at Seven Oaks Golf Club in Hamilton, N.Y. The Blue Hens will be looking to defend their team title after winning the invitational by 13 strokes a year ago.
UD heads back to the state of New York on Sept. 16-17 to participate in the Cornell Invitational at Robert Trent Jones Golf Course in Ithaca, N.Y. The following week the Blue Hens will compete in the George Mason Patriot Invitational at Chantilly National Golf Course in Chantilly, Va. on Sept. 25-26.
Delaware will play in the Elon Phoenix Invitational at Alamance Country Club in Burlington, N.C. on Oct. 16-17, before concluding the fall campaign at the Old Dominion/Outer Banks Invitational at Kilmarlic Golf Course in Powells Point, N.C. on Oct. 22-24.
The Blue Hens return four of their top six performers from a year ago, including senior Jack Gianniny who led the team with four top 10 finishes and ranked second with a 73.46 average round. Fellow senior Kieran Purcell was third on the squad with a 74.04 stroke average, classmate Blaine Lafferty ranked fourth at 74.68, and junior Bobby Diforio was sixth at 74.95.
