Komer and Pilkington Advance at Riviera All-American Championship

MALIBU, Calif. – The Blue Hens continued their journey in the ITA Riviera All-American Championships Saturday with a doubles win over Penn at Pepperdine University's Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center.
In first round action in the Pre-Qualifying Doubles portion of the tournament, junior Sara Komer (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) and sophomore Brooke Pilkington (Virginia Beach, Va./Cape Henry Collegiate) paired for the hard-fought 8-6 victory over Quakers Marija Curnic and Jimena Rodriguez-Benito.
With the win, Komer and Pilkington advance to take on Clemson's Marie-Alexandre Leduc and Fernanda Navarro Sunday at noon ET.
Within the Pre-Qualifying Round, which consists of 32 teams, pairs must win three rounds to advance to the Qualifying Round, which will take place October 3-4 at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif. The Main Draw will be played October 5-8, also at the Riviera Tennis Club.
