Hens Falter in 14-10 Contest at Rutgers

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Delaware fell early and was never able to fully catch up Saturday afternoon as the Blue Hens fell to Rutgers, 14-10, at High Point Solutions Stadium.
Sophomore Sarah Bedard (Mountain Lakes, N.J./Mountain Lakes) posted her second straight game with a hat trick by logging a career-high five points on four goals and one assist.
Senior Becky Gohsler (Mendham, N.J./West Morris Mendham) notched her first goals of the season and finished the day with three points on two goals and an assist to go along with four draw controls, four caused turnovers and two ground balls.
Sophomore Claire D'Antonio (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) also registered two goals with a ground ball and caused turnover for the Hens, who move to 1-2 on the year.
Kate Brewster (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) collected her first-career collegiate start between the pipes and logged four saves and two ground balls in her debut.
Samantha Budd and Kerri Puckhaber each recorded four goals for the Scarlet Knights (3-1) while Devon Kearns picked up nine saves in the cage.
