RALEIGH, N.C. – The University of Delaware men's golf team closes out its 2017-18 regular season this weekend when the Blue Hens compete in the Colonial Athletic Association Championship at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course.
The tournament will begin at 8 a.m. on all three days, with straight tees on Friday and Saturday and spilt tees on Sunday, followed by the awards ceremony.
Delaware is one of nine squads participating at the conference championship, which will be held on the par-72, 7,358-yard course. UD will compete along with defending champion Charleston, Drexel, Elon, Hofstra, James Madison, Towson, UNCW and William & Mary. The winning team and individual champion will advance to the NCAA Regionals in May.
The Blue Hens, led by head coach Patty Post, are looking to improve on last year's sixth place finish at the championship.

UD senior Kieran Purcell leads the Blue Hens with a 74.07 average round, competing in all 10 tournaments on the year with four top 10 finishes. Senior Blaine Lafferty, who has competed in all but one tournament for Delaware, averages a 74.50 round. Jack Melville ranks third on the squad with a 74.96 average round and led UD with a third place finish in the Alex Lagowitz Memorial Invitational. Jack Gianniny has posted a 75.19 average round to go with two top 10 finishes in nine tournament appearances. Freshman Christian Chapman, who has also competed in all but one tournament, is averaging 75.31 shots per round.
