NORMAN, Okla. – The University of Delaware men's golf squad had an outstanding year in the classroom as well as on the course as the Blue Hens earned 18Birdies All-Academic Team recognition, announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America last week.
Delaware posted a 3.130 team grade point average during the 2017-18 campaign, joining a record 222 teams that submitted GPAs of 3.00 or higher to earn All-Academic Team accolades.
"Our team really did a great job in the classroom this year," Blue Hen head coach Patty Post said. "It is hard to balance the time demands of Division I college athletics and achieving solid grades. I am very proud of their academic efforts!"
Delaware finished among the top 10 in all but two tournaments last year, including second place finishes at the Patriot Invitational and Manor Intercollegiate. The Blue Hens kick off their 2018 fall campaign on Sept. 2-3 at the Turning Stone Intercollegiate in Verona, N.Y.
