SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The University of Delaware women's soccer team carried a majority of the play but just missed on a couple of scoring chances as the Blue Hens battled Seton Hall to a scoreless draw Sunday night.
Delaware's best chance came in the final seconds of double overtime, when Pirates goalkeeper Anna MacLean came way out of her net to play a ball. Blue Hen senior Riley Curtin collected the ball and blasted a shot past MacLean, but a Seton Hall defender headed the ball away to keep the match scoreless.
Delaware (0-1-1) also had a shot go off the crossbar in the 10th minute of the contest, while a pair of shots by freshman Toni Starova just missed the goal.
The Blue Hens held a 14-11 shot advantage, and took six corner kicks to the Pirates' three. UD freshman keeper Kamryn Stablein made four saves, including a fantastic diving stop in the final minute of the first half to deflect a ball headed for the top left corner of the cage.
