Delaware Seventh After First Day of Turning Stone Intercollegiate

VERONA, N.Y. – The University of Delaware men's golf team opened tis 2018 fall season with a pair of sub-300 rounds as the Blue Hens sit in seventh place following Sunday's action at the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate.
Delaware fired rounds of 297 and 299 to end the day in seventh place out of 18 squads with a 596 score. Tournament host Missouri leads the way at 560, followed by North Dakota State at 572 and Boston College at 588.
Blue Hen freshman Matt Pulgini, playing as an individual, is tied for 13th place after he carded a one over par 75-70-145 on Turning Stone Resort's par 72, 6,882-yard Kaluhyat Course. Jack Melville shot a two over par 75-71-146 to end the day tied for 18th place, while Christian Chapman is tied for 24th place with a three over par 73-74-147.
Andrew Jacobs carded a nine over par 77-76-153 and is tied for 50th place, while RJ Wren is tied for 57th place with a 10 over par 79-75-154. Roberto Nieves, who recorded an 11 over par 75-80-155 on the day, is tied for 64th place.
The final round of the invitational will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Monday.
