Delaware Continues Play at Hokie Fall Invite

BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Blue Hens continued play Saturday at the Hokie Fall Invite by capturing eight singles wins and one doubles triumph.
In the Ut Prosim flight, freshman Caragh Courtney picked up her first collegiate victory with the 6-4, 6-3 decision over West Virginia's Christina Jordan.
The Blue Hens dominated the Leadership flight consolation bracket as freshman Emily Gotkiewicz and senior Sarah Hall each earned quarterfinals and semifinals wins and will face off in Sunday's championship match. Gotkiewicz topped Hannah Daniel (Georgia Southern) and Melisa Ifidzhen (VCU) while Hall defeated Heidi Swope (Appalachian State) and McKenzie Collisn (unattached).
In the Duty flight, sophomore Sarah Whited registered the 6-4, 6-2 win against Virginia Tech's Emily Pence.
Senior Draga Sabotic also earned a trip to her flight's consolation championship with wins over Gemma Mendoza (Bluefield College) and Lilly Ellick (Radford).
In doubles action, Gotkiewicz and Whited paired for the hard-fought 8-7 (5) victory against VCU's Ifidezhen and Noumea Witmes.
