NEWARK, Del. – On a sweltering hot and sunny day, No. 9 Delaware was unable to get into a rhythm and fell to No. 8 Louisville, 2-1, at Fred P. Rullo Stadium.

Senior captain Michaela Scanlon notched her second goal of the season in the 65^th minute with a chip shot from five yards out on the left side.

Delaware (2-2) received two shots apiece from Greta Nauck, Lotte de Koning and Pia Freudenberger while Sydney Rhodes collected two saves in the loss.

Biz Allgeier and Taylor Stone posted goals for the Cardinals (3-1).
