RICHMOND, Va. – Delaware sophomore Kate Brewster made a name for herself in the season opener and was recognized Tuesday as the Colonial Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Week.
Brewster, who appeared in two games as a rookie a season ago, logged the most saves for Blue Hen in 26 years after posting a career-best 20 saves in Friday's 7-4 win at Temple. Her mark was also the most by a CAA goalie since the 2012 season.
Brewster added a game- and career-high five groundballs and tied a career-low with four goals allowed.
The Blue Hens kick off their home slate this Saturday by hosting Penn at 1 p.m. at Delaware Stadium.
