Blue Hens Fall to Rutgers, 12-11, in Overtime

NEWARK, Del. – The Hens registered a season-best 11 goals, but Rutgers pulled out the 12-11 victory in overtime Saturday afternoon at Delaware Stadium.
Delaware, which led 11-6 at halftime, gave up five second half goals, including one with 45 seconds remaining to force extra time.
Christine Long led the Hens (1-2) with a season-high five goals for her sixth career hat trick. Sydney Rausa added a hat trick of her own to go along with a game-best four ground balls while Claire D'Antonio posted two goals for Delaware.
Caroline Farley dished out a career-best three assists and Mia DeRuggiero tallied one.
Julia Dambly finished the game with seven draw controls, a mark good to tie for fourth in program history.
