Mohollen Reaches 200 Hits; Blue Hens Drop Doubleheader at NMSU

Sherman's Blue Hens are facing that journey early in 2019 as they dropped a doubleheader to New Mexico State on Saturday.
"Right now, this is the toughest part of coaching. Convincing our young group that we will get better and we will work together through this tough run and get going," Sherman said. "I've coached a long time and been through a few of these rough starts of the season. I know it's embarrassing for them and the program, but I also know this group and I know the character of these young men. We're going to hold it together and improve over the next several weeks and we're excited about that."
Highlighting the day for the Blue Hens was senior Kevin Mohollen who had two hits on the day, moving him into the exclusive 200-hit club, a feat that only 36 other players in program history have ever reached.
"Kevin has been a part of the foundation of our program for the past four years. He's been an outstanding leader and ambassador for our program. It's a great accomplishment for him to reach 200 hits," Sherman added.
Jordan Hutchins had three hits on the day, while Erik Bowren added two hits, two runs scored and an RBI in the doubleheader.
New Mexico State entering the weekend averaging over 16 runs a game and the Aggies put that on display on Saturday, scoring at least one run in 13 of their 16 innings at the plate en route to the doubleheader sweep.

The Blue Hens and Aggies wrap up their four-game series with a 2:05 p.m. EST Sunday finale. Delaware returns to the East Coast for midweek showdowns at Maryland and the home opener against UMES.
