DiSimone Earns Player of the Week Honors

RICHMOND, Va. – Headed into the 2019 season, head coach Ben DeLuca knew that the University of Delaware men's lacrosse team would go as far as its seniors would take them.
After nine games, his comment rings true.
This past weekend, senior Dean DiSimone was the veteran who stepped up, scoring a career-high six goals en route to a thrilling 16-13 road win at Big Ten foe Michigan on Saturday. For his efforts, he was named CAA Player of the Week.
"Dean was terrific this weekend. He competed with a different level of focus all game long and really gave us a huge boost. It was probably one of his best games of his career," DeLuca added.
One of DiSimone's six goals this past weekend was his 50thcareer goal as he climbs into the top-30 in program history.
On the year, the West Deptford, N.J. native is tied for second on the team with 17 goals, along with five assists for 22 points.
DiSimone and his teammates open up CAA play this weekend when they travel to Fairfield for a Saturday afternoon showdown. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
