NEWARK, Del. – Set by Set. Game By Game.
The progress is coming for the University of Delaware volleyball team who picked up another spring victory on Wednesday night, taking down 2018 NCAA Tournament participant Navy, 3-2 at the Bob Carpenter Center.
Leading the way was rising senior Maria Bellinger who had an impressive night with 25 kills and hit .438 in the game.
"I'm pleased with the progress that our group has made this spring. We started slow, but were able to recover and grind out a tough win," head coach Sara Matthews said. "We struggled quite a bit in the serve receive which is something that will continue to be a focus for us moving forward. However, the nice thing was that we were pretty efficient out of system, especially Maria. She had a great night and hit for a high clip to lead us. I'm looking forward to another opportunity compete on Saturday against UMBC."
Bailey Pearlman (12 kills), Adelina Rivera-Woolard (10 kills) and Cailey Bracken (9 kills) all had solid nights on the attack for the Blue Hens. Setters Courtnie Roberts and Julia Morris both had great efforts running the offense and distributing the ball to their teammates.
