Delaware Moves Up to Second Place, Dingman Sixth at CAA Championship

SOUTHPORT, N.C. – Delaware moved up one spot into second place on Saturday following the second day of the Colonial Athletic Association Women's Golf Championship.
After carding a 315 score on Friday, the Blue Hens fired a 307 on Saturday to end the day with a 622 total. UNCW leads the eight-team field with a 615 score, while Delaware is seven shots back. Charleston and Towson are each tied for third place with 626 scores.
Blue Hen senior Ashley Dingman shot a five over par 77 during her second round on the par 72, 6,103-yard Reserve Club course at St. James Plantation, and is tied for sixth place in the individual standings with a nine over par 76-77-153. Dingman birdied the 12th hole and added 11 pars during Saturday's action.
Thitaree Sakulbunpanich also carded a five over par 77 on Saturday, and is tied for eighth place with a 10 over par 77-77-154. Sakulbunpanich recorded birdies on the third, ninth and 18th holes during her second round.
Sophia Dieter, who birdied the third hole on Saturday, fired her second consecutive 78 and is tied for 11th place with a 12 over par 78-78-156. Ariane Klotz posted the best round of the day by a Blue Hen, as she notched five birdies during her three over par 75. Klotz is tied for 14th place at the tournament with a 15 over par 84-75-159.
Valentina Mueller, who birdied the ninth hole on Saturday, is tied for 31st place with a 23 over par 87-80-167.
Thao My Nguyen of UNCW is leading the field at four over par, while Victoria Huskey of Charleston and Jordan Cornelius of Towson are one shot back.
The final round of the championship will begin at 8 a.m. on Sunday.
