Delaware Falls in 9-8 Contest at Elon

ELON, N.C. – It was another close heartbreaker for the Blue Hens Sunday afternoon as Delaware fell to Elon, 9-8, at Rudd Field.
The Blue Hens never trailed by more than two goals and tied the contest in three separate occasions.
Mia DeRuggiero guided Delaware with four points on two goals and two assists to go along with three ground balls and one draw controls.
Sarah Bedard and Claire D'Antonio also contributed two goals and two ground balls while Caroline Farley dished out two assists with two draw controls and a caused turnover.
Kate Brewster and Mercy McCarthy split time in the cage with McCarthy leading the way with six saves.
