Milestones From DeRuggiero and Rausa Lead Hens to 13-11 Win Over Drexel

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – A 35-year-old record fell and a Blue Hen registered a season-high in goals Friday afternoon as Delaware topped Drexel, 13-11, at Vidas Field.
With three assists against the Dragons, Mia DeRuggiero broke the program's single-season assists record as she now holds 45 for the year.
Sydney Rausa collected a career-high six goals, including five straight in the first half, in what was another game to provide multiple momentum shifts. Her goals gave the Hens (7-8, 1-3 CAA) the 5-1 advantage before Drexel rallied for five consecutive of their own.
Following a 6-6 halftime stalemate, Delaware scored three straight to open the second half never relinquished the lead.
Maddie Maio and Kendra Schweizer came off the bench to guide the Hens with three draw controls apiece.
Kate Brewster finished the game with nine saves to go along with two ground balls. Julia Dambly and Chantae Simms added team-highs of three ground balls each.
