Rowing Puts Two Boats in Finals at Dad Vail Friday

Novice 8 and Varsity 4 each with successful showings in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA – The Delaware rowing team had two boats in competition on Friday at the Dad Vail Regatta on the Schuylkill River, both the Novice 8 and the Varsity 4 reaching the finals in their respective divisions.

The Novice 8 got off to a fast start, finishing in sixth out of 19 boats in time trials to reach the semifinal where they posted a time of 8:13 to reach the finals on Saturday at 1:40 p.m.

Varsity 4 put together a successful day, as well, placing 19^th in time trials out of 28 boats to reach the fourth final. The Blue Hens would go on to win that bout in a time of 8:52, defeating Pittsburgh by a six-second margin.

The Novice 8 will be the lone Blue Hen boat in the water on Saturday before next weekend's CAA Championships.
