McFolling-Young’s Season Concludes at NCAA East Prelims

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – In the midst of a field that had student-athletes from the ACC, Big Ten, SEC, Pac 12 and many other high-profile programs, Myrissa McFolling-Young proved yet again that she belongs.
The sophomore moved up four spots from her entry spot at NCAA East Prelims to finish 43rdoverall in the discus throw on Friday afternoon.
McFolling-Young became the youngest thrower in the history of University of Delaware women's track & field and just the third thrower ever to reach the NCAA East Prelims for the Blue Hens.
In Friday's NCAA East finals, the Smyrna, Del. native launched a throw of 145' 4" on her final throw of the day.
"This really taught me how much I need to dedicate if I want to compete at the next stage," McFolling-Young said. "An experience like this makes me hungrier to come back next year and really make a name for myself."
For the spring, she piled up seven total victories and will return next spring with a bright future in store.
