Former Blue Hen Skipper Bob Hannah Named to MAC Hall of Fame

Winningest coach in UD history honored by MAC
ANNVILLE, Pa. – Former University of Delaware head baseball coach and namesake of the program's current stadium Bob Hannah has been inducted into the Middle Atlantic Conferences Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2019.

The University of Delaware's winningest coach in any sport, Hannah led the Blue Hens to a 1,053-463-6 mark in his 36 years as head coach of the baseball program. The team claimed 22 conference titles in that span and reached the NCAA Regionals on 12 occasions and the College World Series in 1970.

Hannah earned nine conference Coach of the Year honors between the MAC, East Coast Conference and America East Conference, only seeing two losing seasons. Hannah's teams ran off five-straight 40-win seasons from 1993-98, winning back-to-back AEC championships in 1995-96 and three consecutive from 1998-2000.

In 1991, he was inducted into the American Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame and became a member of the University of Delaware Athletics Hall of Fame in 2003. Hannah is also included in the Delaware Baseball Hall of Fame and Delaware Sports Hall of Fame and Museum.

Under Hannah's tutelage, 33 players went on to be selected in the MLB Draft and 25 student-athletes were named All-Americans.
