Blue Hens’ Winning Streak Snapped with 10-2 Loss to Sacramento State

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Delaware saw its 10-game winning streak come to an end on Saturday as the Blue Hens fell to Sacramento State, 10-2 in six innings, on the second day of the Loyola Marymount Tournament.
The Hornets struck first in the bottom of the second inning when Aliyah Robles delivered a two-run single. Delaware got a run back in the top of the fourth as Karolina Flores led off with a single, stole second two outs later, and scored on an RBI single by Chayanna Gallardo.
But Sacramento State took control in the bottom of the frame, as Shea Graves singled home two runs before Alondra Mejia added a grand slam.
Ali Davis led off the top of the fifth by belting her first home run of the season, but the Hornets ended the game in the bottom of the sixth on an RBI single by Graves and a run-scoring double by Mejia.
The Blue Hens were scheduled to play the host Lions later in the day, but that game was canceled due to impending darkness.
UD closes out the tournament on Sunday by taking on Loyola Marymount at 1:15 p.m. Eastern.
