Blue Hens Tied For First Place After Opening Day of ODU/OBX Intercollegiate

POWELLS POINT, N.C. – The Delaware men's golf team is tied for first place following Sunday's opening round of the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate.

The Blue Hens fired a 278 score and are tied for first along with Georgetown in the 17-team field.

Roberto Nieves and Sparky Ariyachatvakin each carded three under par rounds of 68 on the par 71, 6,564-yard Kilmarlic Golf Club course and are tied for fourth place among individuals. Both players recorded five birdies against just two bogeys during their rounds on Sunday.

Owen Manchester, who made three birdies on his opening round, is tied for 14th place with a one under par 70. Hugo Kedzlie and Michal Bargenda each carded one over par 72 rounds and are tied for 30th place.

The second round of the three-day tournament begins at 8:30 a.m. on Monday.
