Blue Hen Golfer Roberto Nieves Set to Compete in Puerto Rico Open

RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico – University of Delaware junior golfer Roberto Nieves will participate in the PGA Tour's Puerto Rico Open this weekend, becoming the second Blue Hen in program history to compete on the tour.
The tournament, the official FedExCup tournament of the PGA Tour, will be held this Thursday through Sunday at Grande Reserve Country Club in Rio Grande. Nieves will tee off at 9:34 a.m. on Thursday and at 1:19 p.m. on Friday.
Golf Channel will provide coverage of the tournament from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, from 2:30 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Nieves earned a spot in the field during a two-day tournament held in Palmas del Mar, Puerto Rico earlier this month.
Nieves is the second UD men's golfer to appear on the tour, along with Joey McLister who competed in the 2012 Zurich Classic in New Orleans.
