Nieves Third Following First Day of Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Blue Hen junior Roberto Nieves sits in third place at even par following Monday's action at the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate.
Nieves carded a 73-67-140 on the par 70, 6,799-yard Golden Horseshoe Gold Course while his second round, which was the second lowest of the day, featured three birdies and 15 pars.
Jakob Henriksson of Old Dominion leads the field at two under par, Lou Baker of Richmond sits at one under, and Nieves is third at even par.
Hugo Kedzlie is tied for sixth place among individuals with a three over par 73-70-143, including a second round featuring three birdies. Owen Manchester, who fired a 82-77-159, and RJ Wren, who carded a 79-80-159, are each tied for 71st place at 19 over par. Michal Bargenda sits in 75th place with a 20 over par 80-80-160.
Playing as individuals, Jack Halleron is tied for 58th place with a 14 over par 78-76-154 while Elliot Haas is tied for 80th place with a 23 over par 79-84-163.
After posting a 304 score during the first round the Blue Hens bounced back with a 294 score in the second, ending the day in 11th place out of 16 squads with a 599 total. VCU leads the field at 574, while Old Dominion is three shots back.
The final round of the tournament will begin at 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
