Blue Hen Men’s Golfers Place Fourth at Golfweek Spring Invitational

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Delaware men's golf team finished in fourth place at the Golfweek Spring Invitational on Monday and Tuesday.
The Blue Hens carded a 292 team score during Tuesday's final round to place fourth out of 10 squads with an 856 total. North Dakota state claimed the team crown with an 842 score.
Roberto Nieves fired a five under par 66-73-72-211 on the par 72, 6,940-yard True Blue course, tying for seventh place among individuals and posting his third top 10 finish of the spring.
Michal Bargenda, playing as an individual, finished in 13th place at the tournament with a three under par 70-72-71-213.
RJ Wren, who carded a two over par 70-72-76-218, finished at 30th place at the invitational. Owen Manchester recorded the lowest round by a Blue Hen on Tuesday with a two under par 70, as he tied for 31st place with a three over par 72-77-70-219.
Hugo Kedzlie tied for 33rd place with a four over par 76-70-74-220, while Jack Halleron finished 42nd with an eight over par 69-72-83-224.
Delaware returns to the course on Apr. 12-13 when the Blue Hens compete in the Villanova Wildcat Invitational.
