Delaware Women’s Golfers Finish Third at Golfweek Spring Invitational

PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – Freshmen Oihana Etxezarreta and Christina Carroll posted top 10 finishes while the Delaware women's golf team placed third at the Golfweek Spring Invitational on Monday and Tuesday.
The Blue Hens carded a 304 team score during Tuesday's final round to finish third out of eight squads with a 907 total. USC Upstate easily won the team title with an 872 score, followed by Illinois-Chicago at 905 and Delaware.
Etxezarreta placed fifth among individuals with a seven over par 71-77-72-220 on the par 71, 6,123-yard Caledonia Golf & Fish Club course, her third consecutive top five finish. Carroll recorded an eighth place finish as she fired a 12 over par 68-76-81-225 during the tournament.
Liz Coffren, who fired an 80-76-75-231, and Lexi Dart, who carded a 76-79-76-231, each tied for 13th place at 18 over par. Siena Ferrick, playing as an individual, finished in 27th place with a 23 over par 78-81-77-236, while Anna Kittelson tied for 34th place with a 30 over par 81-81-81-243.
The Blue Hens conclude their regular season on Apr. 11-13 when they compete in the CAA Championship in Greensboro, N.C.
