Einar Hardarson Named CAA Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – Blue Hen freshman defender Einar Hardarson has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Hardarson assisted on a goal by Carlos Fernandez in the 20th minute of Delaware's match at UNCW on Saturday to put the Blue Hens in front. He then scored his first career goal in the 48th minute off an assist from Fernandez.
Hardarson has appeared in six of seven matches while making three starts for UD this fall. He is the second Blue Hen to earn CAA Rookie of the Week honors this season, along with Orri Thorhallsson on Sept. 6.
Delaware travels to UMBC on Tuesday at 7 p.m. before returning home to host Hofstra on Saturday at 8 p.m.
