Nieves Tied for Second Place Following First Day of Turning Stone Intercollegiate

VERONA, N.Y. – Roberto Nieves is tied for second place among individuals at seven under par as the University of Delaware men's golf team opened its 2021 fall season on Sunday at the Turning Stone Intercollegiate.
Nieves carded a three under par 69 during his opening round on the par 72, 6,803-yard Kaluhyat Course at Turning Stone Resort, before following with a four under 68 in his second round of the day. He is one of three players tied for second place at seven under par, two shots behind leader Michael Sanders of LSU who sits at nine under par.
Michal Bargenda (72-76-148) and Sparky Ariyachatvakin (71-77-148) are each tied for 26th place at four over par, while Xiong Da is tied for 31st place with a five over par 76-73-149.
Owen Manchester (80-75-155) and Hugo Kedzlie (79-76-155) are both tied for 59th place at 11 over par, while Egor Zubov carded an 18 over par 78-84-162 to end the day in a tie for 73rd place.
The Blue Hens carded team rounds of 290 and 297 on Sunday, ending the day in fifth place out of 15 squads with a 587 total. LSU leads the way with a 554 score, followed by tournament host Missouri at 565.
The final round of the invitational will begin at 8 a.m. on Monday.
