Nieves, Ariyachatvakin Post Top 10 Finishes at Loyola Intercollegiate

GOODYEAR, Ariz. – Roberto Nieves and Sparky Ariyachatvakin each finished among the top 10 individuals as the Blue Hens opened their 2022 spring season this week at the Loyola Intercollegiate.
Nieves carded a three under par 69 on Tuesday on the par 72, 7,015-yard Palm Valley Golf Club course to finish in a tie for third place with an 11 under par 68-68-69=205. Nieves, who made four birdies during his final round, has placed among the top four individuals in all six UD tournaments during the 2021-22 season.
Ariyachatvakin recorded six birdies on Tuesday while also shooting a 69, and tied for eighth place with a five under par 67-75-69=211. He posted his third top 10 finish in six tournaments on the year.
Egor Zubov, playing as an individual, tied for 18th place at the invitational with a two under par 70-73-71=214, while Owen Manchester tied for 31st place with an even par 72-75-69=216.
Hugo Kedzlie fired a five over par 73-71-77=221 to tie for 58th place, while Michal Bargenda carded an 11 over par 75-75-77=227 to tie for 84th place.
Delaware finished in fifth place out of 18 squads with an 11 under par 280-289-284=853 team score. Middle Tennessee State captured the team title with an 835 total, while Utah Valley finished one shot back.
The Blue Hens return to action on Mar. 14-15 at the Bash at the Beach tournament in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
