Jyare Davis Named CAA Rookie of the Week For Fifth Straight Week

RICHMOND, Va. – Delaware forward Jyare Davis earned his fifth consecutive Colonial Athletic Association Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week award announced Monday.
Davis led Delaware with 21.5 points and 6.0 rebounds during the week while shooting 16 of 22 (72.7%) from the field. He scored 20 points while going 8 of 11 from the floor and tied for the team lead with five rebounds vs. Charleston, and then led UD with a season-high 23 points on 8 of 11 shooting and also paced the team with seven boards vs. UNCW.
Davis, who has reached double figures in nine straight games, leads the CAA with a 67.0 field goal percentage in conference games.
Davis is the first Blue Hen in program history to earn five consecutive CAA Rookie of the Week awards. His five awards are tied for the second most in a season, along with Devon Saddler in 2010-11 and behind only Ryan Daly who won the award six times in 2016-17.
