Men's Basketball Preview: Villanova (NCAA Tournament)

• Delaware is making its sixth NCAA Tournament appearance. The Blue Hens have lost their five previous NCAA games.
• This year marks UD's second appearance as a No. 15 seed. The Blue Hens fell to second-seeded Purdue, 95-56, in the 1998 first round.
• Delaware has recorded the ninth 20-win season in program history. The Blue Hens' 22 wins are tied for fifth most in a UD single season.
• Delaware won its sixth conference tournament title, and its second CAA championship, with the 59-55 win over UNCW on Mar. 8 in Washington, D.C.
• Jyare Davis was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player, and was joined on the All-Tournament Team by Kevin Anderson and Andrew Carr.
• Villanova has won all 15 previous meetings with Delaware. The teams met once previously in the postseason, a 72-63 Wildcats win in the 2000 Postseason NIT.
• Dylan Painter began his career at Villanova and redshirted during the Wildcats' 2017-18 national championship season.
• Martin Ingelsby's father, Tom, was a standout guard at Villanova from 1970-73 and helped lead the Wildcats to the 1971 NCAA championship game.
• Ingelsby's two brothers, including Brad (writer and producer of HBO's Mare of Easttown), also both graduated from Villanova.
