VILLANOVA, Pa. – Sparky Ariyachatvakin is tied for second place while the Delaware men's golf team is tied for fourth following Monday's opening round of the Wildcat Spring Invitational.
Ariyachatvakin carded a two under par 68 on the par 70, 6,457-yard Radnor Valley Country Club course to finish the day tied for second place among individuals. He posted five birdies during a four under front nine, before adding one birdie on the back nine.
David Hurly of Lehigh leads the field with a three under 67, while Ariyachatvakin and Marquette's Hunter Eichhorn are both one shot back.
Egor Zubov, playing as an individual, is tied for 15th place with a two over par 72. Michal Bargenda carded a three over par 73 and is tied for 22nd place, while Jack Halleron is tied for 42nd place after firing a five over par 75.
Roberto Nieves and Hugo Kedzlie, who each carded six over par 76 rounds, are tied for 49th place.
Delaware and William & Mary each recorded 292 team scores and are tied for fourth place out of 15 squads. Marquette sits in first place at 281, followed by St. John's at 285 and LIU at 291
The final round of the tournament will begin at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
