Men's Soccer Falls To Loyola (Md.)

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware men's soccer team was defeated by Loyola (Md.), 3-0, Monday night at Stuart and Stuart & Suzanne Grant Stadium.
The Blue Hens' (1-1-0) defense began the game strong, holding Loyola (1-1-0) scoreless for nearly the entire first half. The Greyhounds broke through in the 40th minute with a goal by Loc San to take a 1-0 lead into halftime.
Loyola began the second half with back-to-back goals to take a 3-0 lead. Kelan Swales scored the opening goal of the half, while Albert Kang added the final tally just a minute and a half later.
Delaware totaled seven corner kicks for the game, while Adam Vik made three saves. Petros Fokas also tallied a shot on goal. The Blue Hens open up CAA play on Saturday with a 7 p.m. road match at Charleston.
