Women’s Soccer Ties Seton Hall, 0-0
9/4/2022 4:24:00 PM | Women's Soccer
SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - Delaware Women's Soccer recorded its second tie in as many games, as it battled Seton Hall for 90 minutes to a 0-0 draw on Sunday afternoon.
"I'm really proud of the kids on their performance today," said head coach Mike Barroqueiro. "Coming off a gritty game on Thursday, where we felt like we left a few plays on the field, I thought we did a much better job today of putting in a complete performance and we did it away from home against a rested team."
Delaware (1-2-3) had 11 shots with three coming on goal. Sara D'Applonia took three shots, while Raychel Speicher fired off two during the 90-minute span. The Blue Hens held Seton Hall to eight shots during the match.
Goalkeeper Mia Reed had two saves in the net, as the game showed a high level of pressure from both teams' defenses to keep shots on goal away.
Seton Hall's Grace Gordon had three saves for the Pirates. The Pirates held the advantage on corner kicks, 5-2. Seton Hall's overall records moves to 2-1-2.
Next up for Delaware is a matchup at Saint Francis on Sept. 8 at 2 p.m., followed by a game versus Sacred Heart on Sept. 11 at 1 p.m. at Stuart and Suzanne Grant Stadium.
