Strong Second Half Leads Men’s Basketball to Win Over Brown at Baha Mar Hoops Nassau Championship

NASSAU, Bahamas – A 19-3 margin to begin the second half proved to be the difference in Friday's 67-59 win for the University of Delaware men's basketball team over Brown in the opening day of the Baha Mar Hoops Nassau Championship.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS

Jyáre Davis led the Hens in scoring for the fourth time this season with 16 points. He finished 7-for-15 from the field and corralled seven rebounds.
Jalun Trent tied his career high with 14 points on a 6-for-11 day. He added a career-best three steals.
Gerald Drumgoole Jr. tallied a career mark with 12 boards, while adding nine points.
Niels Lane also scored nine points.

HOW IT HAPPENED

It was mostly a back-and-forth affair early on before the Hens used seven-unanswered points to go up 15-9 around the halfway mark. A 6-2 run over a 3:07 span allowed Brown to battle back in front 22-21 with 4:44 on the clock. Five lead changes came the remainder of the half with the Bears up, 31-30.
The Hens came out firing in the second half, jumping out to an 11-0 advantage over the initial 4:23 to go up 10. Another 8-2 margin widened the gap to 15 points at 49-34 to force a second Brown timeout with 11:18 left. Delaware would go up by as many as 17 in the second half, which was insurmountable for the Bears, despite pulling within seven.

Delaware will take on UNC Greensboro on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. on the second day of the Baha Mar Hoops Nassau Championship.
