LEWISBURG, Pa. – With five in double figures, the University of Delaware men's basketball team used a 21-4 first-half run to power past Bucknell in the season opener, 78-60. Jyáre Davis tallied his sixth career double-double to lead all players with 21 points and 11 rebounds.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS

Davis finished 7-of-11 overall, including 2-of-4 from long range. He added a trio of assists to his line.
Cavan Reilly set a career high with 18 points. The sophomore went 6-of-10 from the field and 4-of-7 from deep.
Newcomers Niels Lane (13 points), Gerald Drumgoole Jr. (11 points), and Tyler Houser (11 points) rounded out the double-digit scoring efforts.
Jalun Trent filled the stat sheet as he tallied seven rebounds, five assists, a career best three blocks, two steals, and two points.
Collectively, the group shot 50.9 percent from the field and 43.5 percent from three-point range.

HOW IT HAPPENED

It was a three-point frenzy early on as all 15 points came from the deep ball. Delaware held a 9-6 lead into the first stoppage with 15:56 left in the opening half. Reilly accounted for a pair of triples, with Lane adding the third. After the home team pulled within five at 16-11, Delaware ripped off a 21-4 run to go up 37-15, which forced a Bison timeout. The Hens would end the frame with a 44-25 lead.
The second half was even through the first 8:20 with each team scoring 15 points. The Hens held the slight advantage, 19-17, the rest of the way for the victory.

GAME NOTES

Niels Lane, Cavan Reilly, and Jalun Trent all made their first career starts for the Hens.
Brandon Baffone, Gerald Drumgoole Jr., and Kobe Jerome made their first career appearances in the Blue & Gold.
