NEWARK, Del. – The Delaware women's lacrosse team will play their third game of the season when they host Temple at Delaware Stadium on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 4:00 p.m. Delaware defeated Lafayette, 16-12, last Wednesday to get off to a 2-0 start to their season.

What You Need to Know:

Against Lafayette, Delaney McDaniel had seven assists, tied for fourth most in program history and the most in a Division I game this season, and a goal.
McDaniel joined Mia DeRuggiero (nine on 3/27/19 and 3/9/18, seven on 4/27/19), Karen Emas (eight on 4/17/84), and Denise Swift (seven on 4/21/84) as the only Delaware players to ever have seven assists in a game.
Livornese, Hsu, and Gore became the first trio of teammates to all score at least three goals in a game since DeRuggiero, Claire D'Antonio, and Christine Long did so on May 7, 2020. Hranicka now has seven draw controls and seven caused turnovers through the first two games as well.
Laurel McHale and Lizzie Yurchak scored two goals, while Halen Saroney and McKenzie Didio each scored one.
Madison Hranicka recorded four ground balls and caused three turnovers. Sam Schelling had three ground balls, four caused turnovers, and three draw controls.
Delaware has won their first two games of the season since 2016, and have now won 10 consecutive games over Lafayette dating back to 1993
The Blue Hens upset Temple, ranked No. 18 nationally at the time, last season 11-10 in Philadelphia.
Delaware is 12-3 in their last 15 meetings against Temple dating back to 2003.
Temple was picked fourth in the AAC Preseason Coaches' Poll. Belle Mastropietro was named Preseason Midfielder of the Year, while Mackenzie Roth was named to the All-Conference Team.
