Men's Lacrosse Travels to No.9/10/16 Johns Hopkins

NEWARK, Del. – Delaware men's lacrosse travels to Baltimore, Md. for its final non-conference matchup against No. 9/10/16 Johns Hopkins on Sunday, March 19 at 7 p.m.

The Blue Hens continue conference play and travel to Hempstead, N.Y. to take on Hofstra on Saturday, April 15 at 3 p.m.

- The Blue Hens enter Sunday's contest with a 5-2 overall record after defeating UMBC 17-11 and Monmouth 18-6 at Delaware Stadium last week.
- Tye Kurtz enters the weekend as the nation's leading scorer with 27 goals. He's also second in the country in points with 39.
- Kurtz ranks fourth all-time in program history in goals, with 149, and points, with 233. He needs 13 goals to pass Curtis Dickson for the most goals in a career, and 19 points to pass Anthony DiMarzio for the most points in a career.
- JP Ward enters Sunday's contest fourth in the country in points with 35, and fifth in assists with 18. He's accumulated 113 points in his Delaware career with 59 goals and 54 assists.
- Owen Grant is tied for eighth in the country in caused turnovers with 13. Grant and Joe Speers rank in the top five in the Colonial Athletic Association in caused turnovers. Grant leads the conference while Speers ranks fourth with 10 caused turnovers.
- Roland Hockenbery ranks second in the CAA in faceoffs won with 93, and faceoff percentage at .560. The 93 faceoff wins are a career-high for Hockenbery.
- Matt Kilkeary ranks eighth in the country, and first in the CAA, in goals against average at 9.21.
- Johns Hopkins enters Sunday's contest ranked No. 9 in the USILA, No. 10 in the Inside Lacrosse, and No. 16 in the USA Lacrosse Magazine polls.
- The Blue Jays are 5-3 on the season and are coming off a win against Syracuse 11-9 last Saturday. Prior to Sunday's game, the Blue Jays travel to Navy on Friday, March 17.
- Offensively, Johns Hopkins is led by Jacob Angelus, and Garrett Degnon. Angelus leads the Blue Jays in points with 28, and is second in the country in assists with 21. Degnon leads in goals with 16.
- Tim Marcille has started seven of the Blue Jays eight games this season. He posts a 4-3 record, a 12.15 goals against average, and a .548 save percentage.
- Johns Hopkins is led by third-year head coach Peter Milliman. Both Milliman and Delaware head coach Ben DeLuca were both head coaches at Cornell. DeLuca served as the Big Red's head coach from 2011-2013. Milliman was Cornell's head coach from 2018-2020
