Albamonti Named CAA Field Athlete of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Delaware track & field senior thrower Megan Albamonti was tabbed as the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Field Athlete of the Week, announced Tuesday morning by league officials.
Albamonti was tasked out to open the 2022-23 outdoor portion of the schedule and was the lone athlete representing the Blue Hens at the UNCW Seahawk Invitational on Mar. 3 and surely, she did not disappoint.
The reigning Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Most Outstanding Field Athlete showed out in North Carolina competing in the javelin. Albamonti opened the second flight with a mark of 52.16m. The Westerly, R.I. native then pulled things together for her second attempt and launched the javelin for a season-best mark of 52.84m, which helped her capture victory in the event.
Albamonti's mark leads the CAA and Mid-Atlantic Region while ranking second in the NCAA East Region and seventh in NCAA.
