Men's Lacrosse Hosts Mental Health Awareness Game Against Hampton

NEWARK, Del. – Delaware men's lacrosse returns to Delaware Stadium and is set to host Colonial Athletic Conference opponent on Saturday, April 1 at noon.

SCOUTING DELAWARE
- The Blue Hens enter Saturday's contest with a 6-3 overall record and a 2-0 record in the CAA
- Tye Kurtz enters the weekend tied for the nations leading scorer at 34 goals. He's also second in the country in points with 49.
- Kurtz ranks third all-time in program history in goals, with 156, and second points, with 243. He needs 7 goals to pass Curtis Dickson for the most goals in a career at 163, and 9 points to pass Anthony DiMarzio for the most points in a career at 252.
- JP Ward enters Saturday's contest seventh in the country, and first in the CAA, in assists with 22, He's accumulated 119 points in his Delaware career with 61 goals and 58 assists.
- Owen Grant is sixth in the country in caused turnovers with 19, and seven in caused turnovers per game with 2.11. Grant and Joe Speers rank in the top five in the Colonial Athletic Association in caused turnovers. Grant is third the conference while Speers ranks fourth with 15 caused turnovers.
- Matt Kilkeary first in the CAA in goals against average at 9.30, and save percentage at .529.
- A win against Hampton would be coach Ben DeLuca's 50th career win at Delaware.
- As a team, the Blue Hens lead the conference in goals per game (14.33), scoring margin (+4.9), assists (85) & assists per game (8.33), total points (204) & points per game (22.67), shot percentage (.334), man-up goals (14), man-up shot percentage (.483 / 14-of-29), penalty killing percentage (.880), and goals against average (9.44)
- Hampton enters Saturday's contest with a 2-7 record overall and an 0-2 record in conference.
- The Pirates have picked up wins against St. Andrew's and Wabash College earlier in March.
- Offensively, the Pirates are led by Ellison Burt-Murray, who leads the team in points (29), goals (18), and assists (11).
- Defensively, DyJae Pearson leads the Pirates, and the CAA, in caused turnovers, with 25. He's also scored two goals on the season.
- Hampton is led by second year head coach Chazz Woodson. He picked up his first career win as the Pirates head coach earlier this season.
