Delaware Receives CAA Boat of the Week Recognition

RICHMOND, Va. – Delaware's First Varsity Eight boat was awarded the Colonial Athletic Association's Boat of the Week, the organization announced on Tuesday.
Delaware won the Grand Final at the Mason invite, recording a time of 6:46.5 against an 11-team field. The crew consisting of Claire Higgins-Hart (Cox), Cornelia Meiss (8), Julia Rothstein (7), Ava Norton (6), Sloane Matthews (5), Ava Tine (4), Mary Quackenbush (3), Delaney Denegar (2) and Cara Nel (1). The boat beat out George Washington by three seconds in Grand Final, also finishing ahead of Dayton, Duquesne, Jacksonville and Villanova. The Blue Hens entered the race seeded second after winning their heat (7:04.5) earlier in the day.
The Blue Hens travel to Shamokin Dam, Pa. to compete in the Bucknell/UConn Invite on Saturday, April 29. Saturday will be the final regular season race before the CAA Championships, which take place on Friday, May 12.
